Hey guys, Monday has arrived again can you believe it?
So as you all know I am a huge fan on a medium-full coverage base when I have makeup on, although I really do try not to wear makeup on one or two days a week if possible. This is were my problem lies, I always have a self tan on (Bellamianta Ultra Dark) as I am so pale all you can see is blue veins and I like my veins when I can’t see them lol. Now, a brown neck and white face is never a good look and more often that not I will have to put makeup on as it just looks ridiculous.
While topping up my kit last week I was buying some Charlotte Tilbury products and I came across the ‘Overnight Bronze & Glow Mask’. I didn’t read any reviews on it as I really want to see for myself what I think of it. I personally don’t like the look of tan on my face. This is partly due to the fact it looks so different from makeup and the coverage I generally like!
Darlings, this is my secret to DREAM skin. My Overnight Bronze & Glow Mask features ingredients for a natural, all-over, non-streak tan. Get that bronzed, beach look all year round!
WHAT MAKES OVERNIGHT BRONZE & GLOW FACE MASK MAGIC:
• This fabulous formula means you’ll always look sun-kissed, supple & sexy!
• Natural tan pigments with 82%* of users agreeing that it gives a flawless finish and 83%* agreeing it gives an even skin tone!
• Nourishing blackcurrant seed oil gives bio-mimetic conditioning to your skin
• Oat kernel extract reduces redness and soothes skin whilst protecting and hydrating
It sounded as though it was perfect for solving my problem for my ‘makeup free days’.
I decided to take some pictures to document the difference from day to day as it does recommend that you build it up over three days. To be honest, I don’t photoshop or edit pictures and I havn’t got a clue how to do it nor the want to know. So the pictures are pretty much useless as you can’t see how much the colour did darken every morning.
The first night I cleansed my face as normal and used my serum before applying the product. In the past I have had tan sticking to dry patches on my face and I had my fingers and toes crossed that this didn’t happen. My first thoughts were that it looks just like a moisturiser and that it was extremely nourishing.
I took this photo right after and you can see my skin looks healthy (minus that lovely spot below my nose) but overall it looks hydrated.
The following morning I was happy to see that there were no dark patches on my face and that the colour was even. Now as I did say, the colour was darker in person but it didn’t show up as well in the photo which I won’t bother including. However, it did definitely even out my skin tone. In general I would be dark under my eyes and would be slightly red in my cheeks and I didn’t have any of those problems. I did cleanse as normal as I have oily skin and I need to keep my skin clear to prevent congestion. This didn’t remove the colour which was brilliant.
The third day I was even darker and definitely a step closer towards matching my tan. The colour is even again after being applied for the second night and I am looking forward to seeing how it looks tomorrow when I apply it again tonight.
Again the picture for today shows you nothing so I have decided to go on my Instagram stories tomorrow morning to show you how it looks at its darkest. I will definitely keep you updated as to how long the colour lasts and I hope to write a quick blog post next week giving you the low down on my thoughts.
Depending on what you would normally pay for products will determine if you would purchase it or not. For me, it is slightly on the pricey side although I do think I will use it from the weekend to build up a colour for a Monday or Tuesday so that I can try and be makeup free some days. You don’t use much of the product so I am hoping it will last me a while.
Check out my Instagram stories tomorrow morning to see exactly what it looks like.
As always, thank you for taking the time to read my blog,
